Diaverum Dialízis Központ / Kalocsa - Visit Kalocsa
Kalocsa is situated in the heart of the Puszta, the most famous landscape of Hungary. The Puszta, that means Hungarian cowboys, flowery embroidery and endless horizons. Discover this unique landscape and enjoy a relaxing holiday in Hungary!
Hungary’s paprika capital
Kalocsa is known as Hungary’s paprika capital. The neighbouring paprika fields become a spectacular sea of red in early September. After harvesting, the paprika peppers are cut and made into garlands. They are hung outside in large bunches and emit a typical aromatic scent.
Close to Kalocsa you find the Hortobágy National Park area. The park was established in order to protect thousands of birds, especially cranes, and the native horned grey cattle. The endless grassland of the Puszta is their natural habitat and therefore needs to be protected. For visitors it means getting out into some big open space right in the heart of Europe.
