Since 2002, Crawley clinic has provided haemofiltration (HDF) as well as haemo-dialysis (HD) treatment to patients out of the 20 station unit located on the 3rd floor of the Crawley Hospital.
This all changed on Monday 12th January, when the clinic moved its staff and 100 patients to a new and 24 station standalone facility on Whitworth Road, Crawley.
The clinic operates three shifts each day and is open Monday through Saturday from 0700 hours.
The new clinic is a single storey building situated on its own grounds, offering much easier access and parking for users. It has three isolation rooms , free Wi-Fi connection, free individual Freeview television, free parking and refreshment during dialysis.
There are also four consulting rooms for the visiting nephrologists.
“We are excited to bring dialysis services closer to patients living in Crawley and the surrounding areas. After winning a new contract, we have built a new clinic in Crawley with more stations and more space. Since 2002, we have been providing a service to Crawley patients in a 20 station Unit located on the 3rd floor of Crawley Hospital. This new clinic enhances the experience for both patients and staff. I want to thank the Operations Director, Vicki Dobson, Karen Latchford and her staff for their effort in pulling this through” Said the Managing Director, Mick Hartnett.
The staff room features contemporary conveniences for staff relaxation. According to the Clinic Manager, Karen Latchford. “It’s a big change and an exciting challenge for both patients and staff to move to a new and modern place after over 12 years.The old clinic was worn-out but now everyone is excited and love the new and spacious clinic”.
The initial feedback from the 100 patients who have transferred to the new clinic is very positive. “I am pleasantly surprised and very impressed with the move and how well it’s gone” remarked one of the patients.
