Centru de dializă Diaverum Bistrita - Visit Bistrita
Bistriţa, located at the foot of the Bargau Mountains, was founded in the early 13th century by German settlers and - due to its location on the main trading route with Moldavia - became one of Transylvania's major Medieval cities. Several interesting sites from that time survive in the city's old quarter. Interestingly, the town was mentioned in Bram Stoker's novel Dracula.
Today, the old town’s quaint 15th and 16th century merchants’ houses, the remains of the 13th century fortress walls and a generally unhurried pace have preserved some of Bistrita’s medieval atmosphere. Interesting sights and museums attract visitors.
