Centro de Diálisis Diaverum Alfafar - Visit Alfafar
The town of Alfalfar, with a population of approximately 21,000 inhabitants, is located about 6 kilometers south of the city of Valencia, in what is known as the district of l'Horta Sud or Huerta Sur and has a large part of its term within the Albufera Natural Park. This natural park, with its characteristic ecosystem of wetlands and rice fields, is one of the most important of all the Spanish Mediterranean coast, and hosts a huge number of unique plant and animal species.
The most appropriate time of year to visit this region is during the spring months, during which the temperature is pleasant and rainfall is scarce. On the contrary, the summers are very hot and the winters are soft and humid.
Although it is a small municipality, its proximity to Valencia and its good communications through the short distance train, have made it a more than affordable option for tourists who visit the city, but want to stay on the outskirts of a big city and far from the city bustle. Even in spite of not having beaches in its municipal area, its proximity to Valencia makes it a good option also for beach tourism.
This town has some interesting places that tourists can visit such as the Parish Church of San Sebastián and the Virgen del Don, or the neighborhood of "Parque Alcosa" that stands out architecturally for its model of traditional Valencian architecture. Like the rest of the province, in Alfalfar “Fallas” are celebrated in honor of San José, from March 15 to 19.
