Centro de Diálisis Diaverum Caravaca - Visit Caravaca de la Cruz
Visit Caravaca de la Cruz
Caravaca de la Cruz is a municipality in the Northwest of the Region of Murcia with just over 26,000 inhabitants. Located about 625 meters above sea level, it has a Mediterranean climate with dry summers and somewhat hot temperatures, cold winters and mild rainy springs. Thanks to two rivers that run through the municipality, Argos and Quípar, it is an area rich in agricultural resources.
The visitor who comes to Caravaca can not fail to take into account an emblematic symbol of the city such as the Cruz de Caravaca, cross with four arms, and which is said to be a "Lignum Crucis" (piece of wood belonging to the wood where Christ was crucified and preserved in a reliquary in the form of a cross with a double crossbar). In February of 1998, Caravaca was privileged with the concession of a Perpetual Jubilee Year, which means that every seven years a Jubilee Year will be celebrated, being the next in 2024.
The city has a great cultural offer with obligatory visits to the Castle - Santuario of the True and Holly Cross, the Parish Church of El Salvador, its bullring dating from 1880 built on a former convent of the Franciscans, and numerous churches and hermitages.
