Diaverum proudly participated in the Sweden–Uruguay Innovation Seminar held in the capital city of Montevideo, a high-level event fostering bilateral collaboration on digital health, energy transition, and sustainable transport.
The event was organised by the Embassy of Sweden in Buenos Aires, which also serves as Sweden’s official diplomatic representation in Uruguay. The seminar brought together government authorities, Swedish and Uruguayan companies, and thought leaders committed to driving innovation and sustainable development.
As a leading provider of renal care, Diaverum contributed to the seminar's opening thematic panel on Digitalisation and Health, represented by Country Manager, Pablo Presso. The panel explored how digital transformation is reshaping healthcare delivery, with particular focus on patient-centricity, data-driven clinical excellence, and the role of international partnerships in improving health outcomes.
Pablo joined a distinguished panel that included leaders from BlueCross & BlueShield Uruguay, the University Hospital , the Ministry of Public Health, and Uruguay’s Health Technology Assessment Agency (IETSU). Together, they discussed how innovation in health systems and policy can help address the complex challenges of ageing populations, chronic disease, and equitable and/or improved access to care.
Highlighting True care and digital innovation
In his intervention, Pablo underscored Diaverum’s commitment to True care—our culture of empathy, competence, and medical rigour—while showcasing how digital tools are enabling more personalised and effective treatments for patients with chronic kidney disease. He also highlighted the importance of cross-sector collaboration, including public-private partnerships, in building resilient and future-ready health ecosystems.
The seminar featured three expert panels:
- Digitalisation and Health (with Diaverum as a key contributor)
- Industrial Innovation and Emerging Technologies (featuring Hitachi Energy, HIF Global, ABB and the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Minery)
- Sustainable Freight and Transport Logistics (featuring Scania, Fraylog, Montes del Plata and the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure)
The event concluded with remarks by Álvaro Brunini, Director of Uruguay’s National Research and Innovation Agency (ANII), reinforcing the central role of innovation in bilateral cooperation.
A platform for collaboration
Diaverum’s participation reflects our strategic vision to work alongside local and international partners to shape the future of renal care and contribute to broader health and sustainability goals in Latin America and beyond.
Speaking about Diaverum’s presence at the event, Pablo had this to say: “At Diaverum, we believe innovation is not just about technology—it’s about delivering more human, connected care. Participating in this seminar was a valuable opportunity to share how digitalisation is helping us put patients first, while strengthening partnerships that support a healthier, more sustainable future for Uruguay and the region.”
