On 21 August 2023, Diaverum Portugal welcomed patients to its new clinic in Odivelas, replacing the area's previous facilities. It is the second of the country’s clinics to undergo significant updates in recent months, underscoring Diaverum’s commitment to provide world-class renal care in Portugal.

The clinic is located in Odivelas area, a city and municipality found northwest of the Lisbon metropolitan area. It is one of the 27 clinics Diaverum currently operates in Portugal.

In a significant expansion of the previous spaces, it is comprised of 31 fully equipped dialysis stations, where 58 staff currently care for around 152 patients (with a maximum capacity of 186).

Its services will continue on haemodialysis and the coordination & provision of holistic, multidisciplinary care, through specialist consultations, a nutrition team, pharmacy and social services. A number of amenities, such as Wi-Fi, individual TVs and light meals will be available to patients as they receive treatment.

Sofia Correia de Barros, Country Manager for Diaverum Portugal, commented: “Diaverum Portugal is committed to being a example of excellence of our organisation’s True care culture and values, and our continual investment in our clinics’ infrastructure is ample proof of this”.

“Driven by the belief that ‘good enough is not good enough’, we are in the best position to continue providing life-enhancing renal care to renal care patients in Odivelas, supported by Diaverum’s world-class clinical and medical standards”.

“My sincerest congratulations to everyone that worked to make this new space a reality for our patients and teams”.
