d.HOLIDAY representatives participated in the Bavarian Kidney Patient Association’s (Landesverband Niere Bayern e.V.) 50th Jubilee event held on 5 April in Straubing, Germany - a key market for our leading holiday dialysis programme.
The fair brought together around 150 participants from across Europe, including KPA representatives, patients, and healthcare organisations to discuss important topics concerning chronic kidney disease patients, such as mobility and holidays, as well as transplantation.
The event was graced by the presence of Ms. Katharina Höfling, Deputy Head of Department, Bavarian State Ministry for Health, Care, and Prevention.
Landesverband Niere Bayern e.V. is an umbrella organisation comprising 15 regional groups with around 2,000 members, all dedicated to supporting kidney disease patients and their families. It shares a common mission with Diaverum: enhancing the lives of patients.
During the event, Elenor Mårtensson, Global Customer Manager for Diaverum, gave a presentation about d.HOLIDAY, showcasing how it empowers patients to travel with confidence. d.HOLIDAY supports patients who wish to travel, every step of their journey - from planning an itinerary that suits their needs, to handling the transfer of their medical documentation, and suggesting dialysis-friendly activities at their destination - all while they receive world-class care at one of our clinics.
The event also featured stands from several countries and specialised dialysis travel agencies, presenting holiday possibilities for patients. d.HOLIDAY proudly hosted a stand, with our d.HOLIDAY Coordinators - Paulina Walkowiak, Marta Olim, and Gabriele Müller - from Spain, Portugal, and Germany, each promoting their countries as dialysis-friendly destinations.
Elenor shared: “I am sincerely grateful to Mr. Tomas Gatzer, President of Landesverband Niere e.V., for inviting me to participate in the event. It was an absolute pleasure to join the discussion regarding mobility and travel for dialysis patients, a topic Diaverum considers of paramount importance.
“Witnessing the association's dedication and identifying potential synergies to enhance patient opportunities globally underscores the significance of collaborative efforts in ensuring a fulfilling life for every patient.”
