On 4 November, Diaverum colleagues gathered in Malmö, Sweden, for the second Patient Experience Conference. Building on the success of last year’s inaugural meeting in Madrid, the event brought together ambassadors from across Diaverum’s global network for insightful presentations, panel discussions, and hands-on workshops – all designed to deliver valuable knowledge, strengthen global collaboration, and create opportunities for networking and peer exchange.
Hosted by Michaela Blomstrand, Global Director of Patient Experience & Stakeholder Management, the conference opened with remarks from Rafael Romanini, Diaverum CEO, who highlighted patient experience as both a cornerstone of our renal care delivery and a key enabler of sustainable growth. Building on this, Michaela presented an insightful analysis of how Patient Experience scores correlate with other company KPIs – illustrating where the links are strongest, and where further improvement opportunities remain. Throughout the day, delegates explored how to align strategy, deepen collaboration and share best practices that deliver tangible impact for patients worldwide.
Among the key moments was the panel discussion ‘Future trends in renal care’, featuring Dr Carlos Lucas, Vice President Medical, Diaverum, Dr Carla Santos, Vice President Medical, M42 Corporate Medical Office, Stephanie de Sury, ESG Global Manager, Suzanne Pearce, Corporate Nursing Director, moderated by Marianna Sofocleous, Global Communications & Editorial Director.
The interactive workshop ‘Patient-Led, People-Powered, Digital by Design’ inspired attendees with examples of innovation and local empowerment, led by Hanaa Noor, Head of Nutrition & Quality of Life, Diaverum Saudi Arabia, Maria João Moura, Global Clinical Platform Manager, Håkan Petersson, Leadership & Development Director, and Arij El Karmouni, Communication Specialist, Diaverum France & Morocco.
Joanna Borczak, Global Marketing, Branding & Digital Channels Director, also shared exciting developments from kidney.com, while Hanaa Noor presented ‘Think Global, Care Local: Localising a global strategy’, demonstrating how global frameworks can successfully adapt to local needs.
Reflecting on the event, Michaela said: “I’m delighted that we’ve been able to host a second Patient Experience Conference following the success of the first – it’s such a fantastic opportunity for us to come together as a global team. At the heart of our True care culture is the belief that everyone deserves a fulfilling life and that our patients worldwide should have access to world-class renal care. Our Patient Experience Framework serves as a blueprint to make this a reality, and coming together at this conference allows us to discuss, develop and strengthen it further.”
The day concluded with participants joining the fourth annual Diaverum Awards Finalists’ Ceremony, where five outstanding winners were celebrated for bringing our True care culture to life every day.
