Tourism professionals, institutions, and stakeholders from around the world gathered in Turin, Italy, from 5 – 7 October for the World Summit on Accessible Tourism – Destinations for All 2025. Initiated in 2014 and now in its third edition, the summit is recognised as one of the most significant international events dedicated to accessibility in travel and tourism.

The summit aims to promote and share best practices that improve accessibility across the tourism sector. Its mission is to strengthen a global network of inclusive destinations that welcome all travellers, including those with specific access needs – a vision that strongly aligns with our commitment at Diaverum: to enable patients to live a fulfilling life. Through our global holiday dialysis programme, d.HOLIDAY, we empower renal care patients and their loved ones to travel with confidence, fulfilling their dreams of exploration while ensuring safe continuity of care at their chosen destination. In this capacity, Diaverum participated actively in the summit, proudly standing as an Official Sponsor.

Hosted at the Lingotto Conference Centre, this year’s event served as a hub for dialogue, innovation and practical action. Experts, leaders and international organisations came together to present tangible solutions to help make tourism a truly universal right, with a particular focus on destination management, hospitality and safety, mobility, the role of technology and AI, and the promotion of inclusive cultural tourism.

The summit welcomed high-profile attendees, including Italy’s Minister of Tourism, Daniela Santanchè, and Minister for Disabilities, Alessandra Locatelli, as well as Zoritsa Urosevic, Executive Director, UN Tourism; Alessandra Priante, President, ENIT; Pierluigi Di Palma, President, ENAC; and Anna Grazia Laura, President, ENAT.

Representing Diaverum was Elenor Mårtensson, Global Customer Manager for d.HOLIDAY, who took part in B2B meetings and engaged with specialised travel agencies from several European countries. Reflecting on the event, Elenor commented: “I’m truly proud of our d.HOLIDAY programme and the difference it makes in helping people on dialysis experience the freedom of travel. At Diaverum, we’re deeply committed to raising awareness about the possibilities of safe and worry-free travel.”

Also in attendance were Marta Olim, d.HOLIDAY Coordinator for Diaverum Portugal, Paulina Walkowiak, d.HOLIDAY Coordinator for Diaverum Spain, MariaChiara Durio, Country Managing Director for Diaverum Italy, and Valentina Regoli, Office Assistant for Diaverum Italy, who welcomed guests at the Diaverum exhibition space – connecting with summit attendees, sharing insights about Diaverum’s mission, and proudly representing the d.HOLIDAY programme throughout the event.
