This year, Diaverum celebrates its 35th anniversary - a milestone that gives us an opportunity to reflect on how far we have come, but above all, to celebrate the people who have made that journey possible.

Our roots were planted in Sweden 35 years ago, with a simple but powerful belief: that people living with chronic kidney disease deserve care that helps them live fulfilling lives. Since then, those roots have grown and our branches have spread across the world - from Chile to Romania, Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan and more than 20 other countries. Today, Diaverum brings together colleagues across countries, continents, cultures and healthcare systems, each contributing their own experience, expertise and perspective to who we are.

Our differences are part of our strength. But what strikes me most, wherever I go in Diaverum, is what unites us.

I have been fortunate to experience that personally. Since joining Diaverum in Brazil in 2018, my own journey has taken me across different roles, countries and regions. Wherever that journey has taken me, I have seen the same professionalism, the same wholehearted dedication to our patients, and the same willingness to support one another and go the extra mile. That sense of connection has been built over 35 years by generations of Diaverum colleagues. It can be seen in the way we share knowledge across borders, learn from one another and come together when it matters most. It is there in the expertise of our clinicians. The care and compassion of our nurses. The dedication of colleagues across every clinic, country, team and function.

And together, we have created something that is wholly unique to us: our True care culture. That culture is visible in our greatest achievements, but perhaps even more importantly, it lives in the everyday actions that rarely make headlines - a colleague going the extra mile, a team finding a better way, a patient being treated not simply as a patient, but as a person.

That is our 35-year story. And it belongs to all of us.

Our roots may be in Sweden, but every country, every team and every colleague has added something to the Diaverum story. And while this anniversary is an opportunity to celebrate everything that has brought us here, it is also a reminder that our story is still being written. Today, as part of M42, we have the opportunity to help shape the future of kidney care on an even greater scale. There will be new ideas, new technologies and new possibilities ahead. But I firmly believe our success will continue to depend on what it always has: people who bring competence, passion, inspiration and care to what they do every day.

And there is no better way to bring that culture to life than through the people who embody it. On 29 September, we will come together for one of the highlights of our 35th anniversary year: the 2026 Diaverum Awards Finalists’ Ceremony.

This year’s finalists come from across our global community, but their stories share something important. They show what our values look like when they are lived. In our 35th year, the occasion will carry an added significance: a chance to celebrate not only our finalists and winners, but the culture that has connected generations of Diaverum colleagues across the world.

Thirty five years of True care have brought us to this moment. As part of M42, we look ahead with optimism and purpose, ready to write the next chapter of our journey and create a new generation of stories to celebrate.

Wherever you are in the Diaverum world, thank you for the part you play in our story - for your commitment to our patients, for what you bring to your colleagues and teams, and for making True care a lived reality every day.

Here’s to 35 years of Diaverum – and to everything still ahead of us.
